Studying, additional learning needs / special educational needs and disabilities
We understand that part time courses can be tricky. You have to divide your valuable time into your family, occupation and study time. You will need to be organised and disciplined to get the most out of your course. Our TWISTT team of tutors will be there to support you all of the way, offering guidance and mentoring. Access to 21 CLD (21st Century Learning Design) TEAMS, Kahoot and other platforms.
Personal Hygiene
Substantial elements of the course require students to be treated by another student to practice soft tissue techniques, orthopaedic assessments and postural assessments amongst others. Please ensure you keep high standards of cleanliness, your fingernails are trimmed, clean and your breath fresh (particularly important as a Therapist).
Hand sanitiser and bacterial wipes will be provided.
Timekeeping
Unless otherwise specified, all lecture days will start promptly at 10:00 am and finish at 5:00pm. There will be a 30 minute lunch break and 10 minute tea breaks at the discretion of your tutors for that particular day. Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow you to settle in and get ready for the day of learning.
Attendance
This is a year-long, part time BTEC level 5 vocational course in Soft Tissue Therapy. To get the most out of it you need to attend all of the weekends and be open to learning. If for some reason you do not feel up to a weekend or have an issue please let the course administration staff know and they will organise an alternative weekend, extra tutorials or agree another form of learning with you. We want you to get the best out of the course and we understand if you sometimes have difficulties that prevent you from attending. Do please let us know so that we are able to assist you.
Resits
If you have attended the course for more than 80 percent of the weekend workshops and completed the assignments within the allotted timeframes but do not pass the exams first time, we will get you onto the next available practical exam date free of charge, there will be a fee for the Theory exam as this has to go away to be marked independently.
Complaints
We understand that sometimes there will be issues that you may not be completely satisfied with. In the first instance contact your tutor for the day to resolve any issues, and then the course director in writing only via email at info@twistt.uk
We endeavour to address complaints fully if we are able to and if it is appropriate. Please let us know ANY problems that you encounter. We can only develop and improve you’re experience with your constructive criticism and input.
